It’s easy to take one’s mobility and independence for granted.
Climbing onto a chair to reach the highest cupboard – no problem. Descending a flight of stairs to get to the restaurant’s restroom – piece of cake. Rolling out of bed and stepping into the shower – a daily routine that isn’t given a second thought. Spending the day playing with your grandchildren – fun, delightful, carefree.
When your mobility is unrestricted, your choice of activities is plentiful. Boundless. Seemingly without limit. You can do the things you love and spend your time as you wish.
However, that ease of mobility and freedom to get around and enjoy life is not a given. Even the slightest disruption can have a profound impact.
When confronted with a serious injury like an osteoporotic hip fracture, your world of possibility gets considerably smaller.
